Cody: I wasn't surprised. There was no way it was going to be the couples playing together. It doesn't make sense as a viewer to have loved ones together with each other because they're just going to be hanging out together. It makes so much more sense to have the loved ones on a tribe of their own figuring out things on their own.
The Maine Edge: What is the deal this year with immunity idol clues being thrown into the fire left and right?
Cody: The immunity idol is a huge amount of power in the game, but at the same time being given a clue to the immunity idol publically so that everyone in the game knows you have it is tough. I think throwing it in the fire as a viewer and as a fan is frustrating because you want to see that idol found and used.
TME: Did you think at any point during the episode where Colton quit that one of you on Redemption Island would be able to enter back into the game?
Cody: Afterwards, I thought, 'Why don't I switch with Colton and he can quit from down here in the arena?'
TME: Have you and John forgiven Brad [Culpepper] or even talked to him or Monica at all?
Cody: It's a game. We were both playing as hard as we could in different ways. I reached out and texted Brad last week. I think we're fine. I have no hard feelings with Brad.
