BAR HARBOR The Abbe Museum, Anchorspace, and Northeast Harbor Library are proud to present PechaKucha MDI (PKMDI) Night on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015 from 5:30 7 p.m. at the Abbe Museum. The event features a series of presentations focused on alter egos, each consisting of 20 slides shown for 20 seconds, totaling a talking time of six minutes and 40 seconds. The goal is to bring creative minds together for a night of inspiration, networking, and fun. The event is free and open to the public.

'PechaKucha MDI has been incredibly successful in bringing together people in our island community to share perspectives, concepts, life lessons and humor' said Heather Anderson, one of PKMDI's organizers. 'Mount Desert Island is home to an extraordinarily vibrant, creative community that intersects business and the arts, which is fertile ground for the kind of experiences that characterize the PechaKucha movement around the globe.'

In the PechaKucha format, each presenter is only allotted 20 slides, advanced automatically every 20 seconds. Presentations will revolve around the theme of alter egos and will discuss topics ranging from being a park ranger to a video game personality to a forensic scientist.

Guests are encouraged to bring their own picnic dinner and blanket as the event will be held outside in the Abbe Museum's back yard. Darling's Ice Cream Truck will be serving ice cream throughout the evening, and fresh popcorn will be on hand courtesy of Camden National Bank.

PKMDI is held three times a year at to be determined venues all over Mount Desert Island.
