Penobscot County Soil & Water Conservation District hosts Kids Conservation Field Day

BRADLEY - The Penobscot County SWCD has partnered up with the Maine Forest and Logging Museum, Penobscot Indian Nation, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation, and Forestry to host a Kids Conservation Field Day to be held at Leonard's Mills in Bradley, Maine on July 22. Kids ages 6-12 will get to learn about our Maine forests, wildlife, soils and aquatic life in our ponds, lakes and streams. The youngsters will get to learn in an indoor and outdoor setting while doing hands on activities. The kids will get to dig in a soils pit, get to pull aquatic insects and plants out of the river for identification, go on nature walks to identify trees with a forester and so much more. The field day will be from 9 a.m. 3 p.m. The cost is $5 for the day, and lunch and snacks will be included.
