BANGOR Visitors can enjoy and celebrate beautiful outdoor resources in Bangor. The guide will lead a group out across the West Penjajawoc Grasslands to the Penjajawoc Marsh on Feb. 14 from 1 p.m. to approximately 3:30 p.m. If the Marsh is well frozen, participants will go all the way across the marsh, a wonderful adventure filled with cattail, alder, porcupine sign and muskrat dens.

Snowshoers will get an explanation of the Penjajawoc Preserve names and their locations to show how they're connected. If the Marsh isn't frozen, participants will hike the marsh edge and along the forest edge of the Grasslands. Bring your snowshoes, skis, ice walkers and/or poles to be prepared for conditions. Traditionally, the roads on this particular weekend have been hazardous due to weather. Be sure to check the Bangor Land Trust website, Facebook page or voicemail for last minute changes.

Visitors will meet at the West Penjajawoc Grasslands Kiosk on Fox Hollow Lane. There is parking available in the Fox Hollow Lane cul-de-sac.
