Weekly Time Waster - ‘Circuit’

It’s no secret that I tend to eschew the more complicated games in this space. Weekly Time Waster isn’t about finding those games in which you can invest hours and hours of playtime. Rather, it’s about finding those games that will allow you to kill a few minutes before class or between meetings.

“Circuit” is just such a game. It isn’t complex at all, a puzzle game that involves little more than establishing connections between power sources and power cores. You can turn the power sources on and off as you try to determine which paths best fit the energy needs of these cores without blocking the current or overloading the core.

Game play is simple. You turn power on and off; advanced levels sometimes allow you to open and close the conduits accordingly. Other than that, you’re just trying to fill each core with energy; do so and you’ll advance to the next level.

To be honest, there are better puzzlers out there. For some, this game might prove to be a bit overly simplistic, both in terms of gameplay and in terms of aesthetics. Still, there’s plenty to like here; you can burn through numerous levels in a fairly short period of time, but the upper levels can also prove surprisingly challenging.

“Circuit” will certainly help you idle away a few minutes here and there, though perhaps not much more than that. Play for free at kongregate.com.
