Participants will have the opportunity to work in teams to address civic issues using open source data and public information, combined with their innovation and engineering skill. Hosted at the offices of Eastern Maine Development Corporation, 40 Harlow Street, the Bangor group will be participating as one of many simultaneous events across the country collectively known as the National Day of Civic Hacking. More information about this effort can be found at http://hackforchange.org.
“For the Bangor area, The National Civic Hacking Day is about growing our local community with technology. It is a day to recognize achievements, show off individual ideas and connect with other civic hackers nationwide who are using their skills to make our cities and this country great,” said Jeff Courtney, Information Services administrator for the City of Bangor. “The City of Bangor is excited to support National Civic Hacking Day in our local area, and we look forward to reviewing the feedback generated from this national event.”
