Antique appraisal to benefit

Rosscare's Lifeline

ORONO - The public has a great opportunity to have their antiques appraised while helping to support the Rosscare Lifeline Help Button Program. The event will be held at the Dirigo Pines Retirement Community in Orono on Saturday, Aug. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Doctor Bruce A. Buxton has been licensed by the State of Maine Department of Professional & Financial Regulation Board of Licensing of Auctioneers. No antiques will be bought or sold at the appraisal. Appraiser Bruce Buxton and his staff are not dealers and have a strict policy against buying items they appraise. This guarantees a completely unbiased assessment of your items, thus avoiding any conflict of interest.

There is a small fee to appraise your antiques with all proceeds of the Antique Appraisal Show going to Rosscare Lifeline. The program currently provides over 500 Lifeline Units to area residents who are elderly or disabled. Help can be summoned remotely by pushing the Lifeline button, putting the person in contact with emergency services. Lifeline has been credited with allowing many people to stay in their home longer and more securely.

The public is invited to have their antiques appraised or just come for the fun of it and watch Buxton appraise items in his entertaining way. Call 866-3400 or visit the Dirigo Pines website at www.dirigopines.com or visit www.rosscare.org for more details.
