The table games are located on the existing gaming floor, close to the entrance to the Epic Buffet. In all, fourteen table games will be in operation, including one roulette table, six blackjack tables, one 4-card poker table, two 3-card poker tables, and four regular poker tables where Texas Hold ‘Em will be dealt most frequently.
“We have had a series of preview nights this week to prepare for our big day,” said Osborne. “The enthusiasm among the dealers, our guests, and our existing employees has been fantastic. We are very happy with how this has all worked out.”
In November of last year, voters in Penobscot County overwhelmingly approved table games at Hollywood Casino Hotel & Raceway. The yes vote resulted in 89 new jobs for dealers, table games management, surveillance, casino cashiering, and beverage service. Facility personnel have worked with Eastern Maine Community College to train and certify new employees on the games. Table games are expected to provide sustainable funding for the new arena in Bangor through increased revenue and taxes from Hollywood Casino.
